About Us

In high school I was in a 12 team league with some friends. It was a great league and all 12 members were engaged and competitive, because we had all day at school to talk crap and hype each other up. The first season after high school it was clear that this wouldn't last, and with everyone on different life paths, it was going to be too difficult to keep a competitive 12 team league going. The next season 8 of us split off and formed a league that has lasted for years, and helped us stay close as friends.

This site was born out of a love for that league, and the knowledge that there are many leagues just like mine. After years of reading fantasy articles, studying rankings and listening to podcasts, without one mention of 8 team leagues like mine, we decided to start smallleagues to fundamentally change the fantasy landscape, and end the disrespect of smaller leagues. 

So that's how we came to be. Here's where we're going.

It's no secret that most people play in bigger leagues, so I won't pretend like this site is likely to blow up. Our vision for the future of smallleagues is instead focused on creating meaningful interactions with every  member of the smallleagues community and helping them love their leagues as much as we love ours. Oh, and we're gonna help you win a championship.
